As an Association, we are always looking for ways to lower our utility costs while improving our environment. To that end, we sent out RFPs to solar energy companies to evaluate our common areas and obtain proposals to provide solar power to our facilities so that we can save money on our energy costs.
The Board ultimately decided to enter into a power purchase agreement with California Clean Energy, LLP and Excite Energy/Solar NorCal. Excite Energy/Solar NorCal completed the planning, design, engineering, review and approval by PG&E.
The project includes the installation of solar power systems at the Admin Office parking lot, Country Club parking lot, Golf Course driving range, and the Marina parking lot. Most panels will be placed on parking shade structures and some on buildings.
Our solar power provider projects that we will see several thousand dollars in cost savings in the first year alone and even more each year.
