Lakefront Lodge Now Available to Members Starting October 1st, the Unit IV Lodge with its playground and barbecue areas, and ample parking lot became available for Association activities and members use. Although this facility was conveyed to the Association in late 1970, it has been used exclusively as a sales center.
In September the Board of Directors agreed to extend the lease with U.S. Land Sales and Development Co. for a final six months, through March 1974, allowing their daytime use on Saturdays and Sundays. At other times it is available now for member use.
The Lodge on the East side of the Lake is certain to become a popular Community Center and is most suitable for a wide variety of gatherings, receptions, bridge clubs, theater events and individual relaxation. A dance floor occupies one wing overlooking a large sun-picnic deck, beach and the Lake. A large stone fireplace lends warmth to the open-beamed interior. Food and beverage service will be furnished from the Country Club for planned events under the Association's catering license. It is tentatively planned starting next summer, that food and beverage service will be regularly available on weekends with music on Saturday nights.
The swimming beach and boat docks at the Lodge will be ready and open for use at the beginning of next season. Before determining if ski boat activity needs to be restricted in this area, the Board of Directors is waiting for final recommendations from the Aquatic Committee on best over-all use of the Lake.
