Old Priest Grade Update

I can report that the paving is now complete. The striping contractor is due to complete his work sometime in the middle to late part of this week. Once the striping is complete, the only remaining work item is the guardrail posts and the guardrail itself.

We have confirmed that the guardrail posts did indeed ship as planned. The contractor has informed us that he intends to wait until the striping is complete and has had a chance to dry before starting the installation of the guardrail. That would suggest that that guardrail installation would start on or about September 7. With any luck, this operation will go smoothly and we will be able to open up the road before the September 29 date. However, if things do not go well this gives the contractor plenty of time to get the problems worked out.

Again, thanks for your help and patience. We are confident that when we reopen the roadway it will be a significant improvement and the residents will be very happy with the final product.
